The Virgin Islands Resource Center for the Disabled whose mission is to meet the
informational, instructional, vocational and adaptive technological
needs of persons with disabilities, recently awarded LNF a grant to
create an on-line volunteer database.
Our objective is to
recruit and train between 25 and 40 volunteers a year to deliver
program services to under-served people in the US Virgin Islands.
This program will not only train volunteers to find and retain jobs,
it will provide a data base of resources for other organizations in
the community. By providing a customized database for
volunteers we will increase the number of volunteers available to
provide and deliver services to an increased number of people.
