The 2006 Summer Youth Program co-sponsored by LNF and the St. Croix Animal Shelter started the first session on June 12th. The first 4 week session has six students one aide, Jessica, and program coordinator, Anna.
For part of the day the students learn animal care skills and the other they spend learning computer skills.
There will be three sessions, each 4 weeks long. The students have already started work on their own web site. This is a great opportunity to learn both animal care skills and computer skills. The program is open to youth ages 14-17 and there is no tuition costs for the participants.

King Derby of Calypso Inc and Learning Networks Foundation are doing their part to keep the cultural heritage of St. Croix alive.
LNF recently received funding to help support the Calypso After School program held at Elie Rivera School, Christiansted, St. Croix. Everyday after school King Derby and Monique Macedon teach children ages 6-12 how to play a banjo and perform Calypso music. These kids typically are from lower income households.

It's that time of year again when hard decisons have to be made about gift giving. A question you might ask yourself is, "Do I or my my family really need 'more stuff'? Wouldn't I feel better if I gave (or received) a gift that was really needed?"
Why not sign up with www.WhatGoesAround.org? Here you can register the charities you'd most like to support. The site works just like a wedding registry except that you list the charities you would like to give to. Friends and relatives can then give to those who are really in need in your name.
Wouldn't the feeling of true giving make this the perfect Christmas for you? It's not too late - sign up now!
